Woman attempts to get quite the deal at What A Deal store, police say

Police arrested a Conway woman for shoplifting from What A Deal on Tuesday afternoon.

Officers arrived at the store in the 2500 block of Donaghey Avenue around 5:30 p.m., and made contact with the 42-year-old woman.

The store owner told police she witnessed the woman conceal several items under her hooded sweatshirt, and worried she was going to steal the items.

Upon contact with the suspect, police witnessed the woman removing clothes from under her sweatshirt. When asked why she had clothing under her sweatshirt, the woman told police she was trying them on and would not leave the store without paying.

Approximately $70 worth of clothing items was attempted stolen the police report states.

The woman was transported to the Faulkner County jail and held on a theft of property charge.

This is all a big misunderstanding.

The lady simply thought the sign said "What a Steal".
