Man threatens woman with baseball bat in Walmart parking lot, police say

A Center Ridge woman says she was shoved and threatened with a baseball bat by a man in a Walmart parking lot.

Officers responded to the scene in the 1100 block of Skyline Drive around 1:18 p.m. Monday.

The 31-year-old female said the incident began while she waited for a parking spot to empty and encountered a vehicle from the opposite direction who “narrowly missed her car,” the police report states. The woman told police she honked her horn at the vehicle, operated by a white male, in protest.

After the male exited his vehicle, the woman said she exited her vehicle and the two became entangled in a yelling-match, during which the woman said she was shoved by the man. The woman said the man then returned to his vehicle, retrieved a baseball bat and threatened her.

The woman told police she yelled louder until the man returned to his vehicle and drove off.

The man’s vehicle was described as a 2004 or 2005 model Nissan truck. No vehicle color was included in the police report’s description. The woman said the man appeared to be in his 50s.
