Conway police say a 63-year-old man, accused of second-degree sexual assault and sexual indecency with a child, was arrested Thursday.
Police say Richard Lee Smith, Sr., of Conway, is alleged to have inappropriately touched a seven-year-old girl that was “known to him.”
The investigation began when Conway officers were contacted by the Arkansas State Police. Smith is currently being held at the Faulkner County jail.
Second-degree equal assault, a class B felony, is punishable by five to 20 years in prison, and a fine up to $15,000. Sexual indecency with a child, class D felony, is punishable by up to six years in prison and a fine up to $10,000.
