A pre-trial hearing, scheduled Monday for a Quitman woman accused in the Aug. 20 shooting death of her boyfriend, was continued, according to Prosecuting Attorney Cody Hiland.
Jamie Lynn Leach, 21, was set to appear before Faulkner County Circuit Judge Ed Clawson, in connection with the case in which she faces a first-degree murder charge.
Court documents show Leach’s hearing was continued until Sept. 3.
Leach was arrested the day of the death of her boyfriend, 24-year-old Cody Bradley, also of Quitman.
Authorities said Bradley was found dead in the residence he shared with Leach at 763 Arkansas 25 North.
If convicted of first-degree murder, a class Y felony, Leach faces 10 to 40 years or life in prison.
Leach is scheduled for trial Wednesday in Saline County for a possession of a controlled substance charge, which stems from a Feb. 14 arrest at a Wal-Mart in Saline County that occurred while out on bond.
Leach faces zero to six years in prison, if convicted of the class D felony.
Following the February arrest, Leach’s bond was revoked. She is currently being held at the Faulkner County jail while awaiting both trials.
Leach is represented by Frank Shaw in both cases.
