A Conway man says his home, located in the 1200 block of Salem Road, was burglarized this weekend while he was out of town, resulting in the loss of more than $12,000 worth of jewelry.
The 61-year-old victim told police he left around 5 p.m. Friday, and returned around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday to find several pieces of jewelry missing from his home.
The amount of stolen jewelry listed in the police report was valued at $12,600. The stolen jewelry included an oval black sapphire Scott Kay ring with a cross, a black sapphire Scott Kay bracelet, and a leather and gold Constantine bracelet.
The victim told police he had a housekeeper and ex-employee who were both upset with him at the time of the theft, and confirmed to police that both subjects had knowledge of the code to his alarm system. Police said the victim refused to name the possible suspects since he was not sure they were responsible.
Police said the victim found no signs of forced entry, and no other items from the home appeared to be missing.
