Bakery closes downtown

Happy Labor Day weekend, everyone. I am so excited about this three-day weekend.

In honor of Labor Day and the soon-coming (hopefully) fall, I went out and got myself a pumpkin spice latte. That’s right, and I may not stop there. I may get some pumpkin candles for my house too. Fall can’t get here fast enough. It was a gorgeously mild summer until just a few weeks ago. Now I’m spoiled, grumpy and just so over the heat. Also, I’m really excited about shopping for new clothes for fall and winter. I’m going to need lots.

Sad news

I’m sorry to announce that Main Street Bakery has closed. They had some of the best cupcakes in town. They were family-owned and operated, and I’m hearing that they closed for health reasons. Goodbye, Main Street Bakery. We’ll miss you.

Playworld changing

I’m not sure how long Playworld has been out of business. I don’t have any children, so it’s not really a place I ever frequented. At any rate, the building is about to undergo some changes. A church group and a daycare are going in together on it. I’ll have more information on that in the future. Speaking of Playworld, I understand the maze that used to be an attraction there has been relocated to Larry’s Pizza.

Soon to be revealed

It seems to be a slow time for rumors, although there are a couple of things I hope to have news about soon. There is a sign up at the building on Locust Street at North Street that says “Buttons,” and I believe it says something about men’s apparel. I’m going to try to locate the individual who belongs to that sign. Also, I keep hoping that before too long we are going to see some activity on the restaurant coming to Rogers Plaza. You can bet I’ll be on top of that as soon as possible. If you have any questions or suggestions, email me. Have a great holiday.
