I’ve been trying for a few weeks to learn exactly what the plans are for the skating rink, which apparently is scheduled to be torn down and redeveloped. However, I’ve been unable to get in touch with anyone who can give me further details.
As for the bowling alley, however, you may have heard some misinformation about that. So let me tell you the story there. The owners are going to do some improvements, interior remodeling, carpet and painting, and a little exterior work, maybe some landscaping. In fact, by this time, they’re probably in the process. Like I said, I was trying to find out about the skating rink and getting nowhere for a while.
The new Domino’s Pizza is under construction on Salem Road in the shopping center behind the Bear’s Den Exxon at Dave Ward Drive. This will be good news if you live on Salem or Dave Ward or in the vicinity and you like Domino’s.
• As usual, there are a few things going on downtown. Central Station, the gas station that has been completely renovated at Locust and Caldwell Streets, should be finished in about two weeks, I’m told. It is going to have a restaurant/deli inside when it reopens.
• Work has begun on The White Goat, which is coming to Oak Street at the former Soundstage building. It is a home décor business that carries chalk paint, antique and vintage-style furniture. They also offer classes. It is quite the popular place in Little Rock, apparently.
• Hipsway is expanding its retail space into the area that Royal We recently moved out of.
That’s about it for this week. Call or email me if you have questions, suspicions, or otherwise rumorable things.
