JACKSONVILLE — The Board and staff of Arkansas Federal Credit Union announce the upcoming retirement of its President/CEO Larry Biernacki. Biernacki joined the organization in 2005 and will retire Aug. 1.

Since assuming the role of president/CEO of Arkansas Federal in 2005, Biernacki has overseen and led his team through a major growth of assets and facilities.

Because of Biernacki’s leadership, Arkansas Federal doubled assets in five years’ time; increased membership by more than 20,000 members; saw the opening of eight new locations and the growth of many different profitable direct and indirect portfolios. In addition, he has been responsible for innovative new products and enhancements being delivered to the marketplace.

Arkansas Federal Credit Union received numerous service and quality accolades under Biernacki’s leadership, including being named 2008 Arkansas Business of the Year.

In addition to his role as president/CEO, Biernacki has been heavily involved in the local community. Personal awards Biernacki has received are:

• Emeritus Member of Air Education and Training Commander’s Civic Leader Group, the Team Little Rock; and

• Cornerstone Award and Emeritus Honorary Commander for the 314th Airlift Wing.

For these and many other accomplishments, Biernacki is greatly appreciated and will be remembered for having led Arkansas Federal with humility, determination, passion, skill, kindness and a sense of humor.

Biernacki and his wife, Pam, plan to split their time between their Central Arkansas and East Texas homes during retirement.

Plans also include traveling, spending time with family, volunteering in the community, golfing and fishing.
