Mark Ferguson named 2014-15 treasurer of the Arkansas Bankers Association

Mark Ferguson was installed as the 2014 - 2015 Treasurer of the Arkansas Bankers Association at the 124th Annual ABA Convention on May 15 at the Little Rock Marriott and Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock. This is his fourth year to serve as ABA Treasurer.

Ferguson is the Executive Vice President of First Security Bancorp where he serves on the executive committee and numerous boards within the corporation.

Ferguson is a graduate of the University of Central Arkansas where he earned a BBA in Finance. He also earned his Juris Doctor of Law from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and is a licensed attorney in the state of Arkansas.

Ferguson’s banking career spans 30 years with a progression from courier to teller to accounting clerk with Worthen Bank while attaining his undergraduate degree. After completing college Ferguson served as a credit analyst, commercial lender and senior lender at Worthen Bank while obtaining his Juris Doctorate degree. He was named President and CEO of First Security Bank of Conway in 1996 and in 2007 was named Executive Vice President and Senior Credit Officer of First Security Bancorp.

Ferguson currently serves on the board of directors for the Conway Development Corporation and is a trustee of New Life Church. Other board involvement includes the Conway Corporation, Conway Regional Health System, Conway Chamber of Commerce, Main Street Conway, Salvation Army and K-Life.

Mark and his wife Julie reside in Conway and have three children.

The Arkansas Bankers Association was established in 1891. It is the state’s largest and oldest banking industry organization and represents banks, bank holding companies and savings & loans in Arkansas. The ABA provides a variety of member services, including educational programs, products and services, publications and a comprehensive government relations program.
