Why did you decide to open this business/location? As a third generation transmission mechanic, I have had the privilege of learning from my grandfather and father. They have taught me how to master the skills necessary in order to understand and repair the most complicated transmissions. After researching the Faulkner County area, we saw an opportunity to serve in the transmission field. We want to not only repair vehicles, but do so in a way that reflects the integrity and passion we have for customers and their vehicles.
What is the best part about owning/operating this business? The best part about opening your own business is being able to connect with other business owners in the area. The first few days before we opened I visited several local business to let them know who I was, where I was located, and the services I provide. Many of these business owners have sent me business based on this face-to-face encounter and I am so grateful. Knowing that this skill is very specialized makes me take that much more satisfaction in sharing my passion.
What has been the biggest surprise that has happened since opening this business? The outpouring support of the community, and business who have given me an opportunity to serve them. We expected the first few weeks to be slow instead we had business lined up when we opened the doors.
What is the best piece of advice you received before going into this business? Do not be afraid of the unknown, but walk in faith knowing that your passion is much stronger than the uncharted. Prayer was the biggest part of our decision to start this business. We took a step of faith and God has provided!
What is the most important piece of advice you would give to someone starting out in business? There will be ups and downs in your decision to go into business for yourself. If it’s the right choice God will certainly open doors to which your heart desires.
What makes your business unique to Conway and Faulkner County? Transmissions require a combination of skills and the ability to stay above changing technology. In my 12 years of experience, I have worked intensely to expand my skills by attending courses, seminars, and talking with industry professionals. By reaching for excellence I bring a unique skill set and ability to work on a wide range of foreign and domestic vehicles in all their complexities.
