What type of business is it? Real Estate Firm
What specifically does your business do? We have the privilege of helping Faulkner County residents buy, sell, rent, or invest in all things real estate.
Owner Name: Matt Grissom
Why did you decide to open this business/location? I felt like Conway had become pretty complacent when it came to real estate companies. The ones that have been around the longest still continue to do the same old things, so I really want to get out there and challenge these larger companies, some with franchise names behind them, to show them a small and local company can succeed. We pride ourselves in not hiring part-time agents; we want our clients to know that they are our number one priority, and that starts with knowing that their agent works for them 100 percent of the time.
What is the best part about owning/operating this business? To fall back on my answer to the previous question; It is nice to know that I can call the shots and run the company with class, and try to bring respect back to this profession. We are professionals here at Grissom & Company, we are good at what we do, and I don’t ever want that to change.
What has been the biggest surprise that has happened since opening this business? I guess the biggest surprise would be the overwhelming amount of support I’ve received. Not even twenty-four hours into us opening, I was receiving phone calls, texts, and facebook messages from people saying “Congratulations!” Not even a month into being open, we had already closed on our first transaction, and had over fifteen new listings. I knew we’d be successful, it was just a pleasant surprise that it happened so quickly.
What is the best piece of advice you received before going into this business? From one of my mentors, Keller Johnson: He instilled in me that no matter what, to succeed in business, you have to call people back, follow up with people, and just TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS. This has been our slogan for the last few months and probably will be for a long time. “TCB” — Taking Care of Business.
What is the most important piece of advice you would give to someone starting out in business? Work smart, return phone calls, and just take care of your business.
What makes your business unique to Conway and Faulkner County? I’m only 25 years old, and that makes me the youngest Principal Broker in Arkansas. Aside from that, we are a close-knit group that works as a team. So you don’t just get one agent when you list your house, you get a team!
