If all goes well, we could see Conway’s new Dunkin’ Donuts store open by Feb. 12, just two days before Valentine’s Day. With all the enthusiasm I’m hearing about this arrival, doughnuts might just give roses a run for their money among sweethearts this year. Who’s with me?
The store is an all-new concept for the chain, which will be nifty for everyone already familiar with Dunkin’ Donuts. The decor inside should look different from what we’ve seen before, and the technology will be updated with a digital menu board. It is, you may recall, a combination Dunkin’ Donuts/Baskin Robins. They will have everything from ice cream cakes to blueberry flavored coffee and everything in between. Here’s hoping all goes well in the next couple of weeks.
Shop opens on Bob Courtway Drive
I recently met Shalonda Parks and Tiffany Trezvant, owners of Sassy Elegance Boutique. The boutique is at 1050 Bob Courtway Drive. They offer jewelry, scarves, tops, jeans, handbags, candles and more. You can visit their Facebook page, and a website will be up and running soon.
The owners, both Conway natives, shared a longtime dream of owning a boutique. Parks earned a business degree at the University of Central Arkansas and worked in the corporate world for several years before deciding to start her own business. When she became friends with Trezvant, she knew she had found the right business partner.
What I find interesting about this place is they are carrying sizes small to 3X. It’s possible I’m just not getting out enough, but it seems there aren’t many specialty stores around offering plus sizes. I believe they may have a niche market working for them. Any takers?
For Valentine’s Day, Sassy Elegance Boutique is holding a drawing for a $50 gift card. Anyone who makes a purchase at the store will be entered in the drawing.
Surprise
Last week I told you about Weddingpalooza and Events at 1030 Front St. Congratulations to owner Tammy Spand, who opened her doors on Feb. 1. She is a certified wedding planner, and the shop will offer brides a chance to shop on an appointment-only basis for all their wedding needs.
