The Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office made its third internet sex sting arrest of 2017 on Thursday.
Mark Dana Beagle, 29, of Benton was arrested after arranging to meet up with who he thought was an underage girl in Conway.
FCSO spokesman Adam Bledsoe said undercover investigators began chatting with Beagle in an online chat group on Monday.
“During those communications, Beagle allegedly made arrangements to meet a 15-year-old female at a predetermined location in Conway, Arkansas, for the purpose of sexual intercourse,” he said.
Deputies arrested Beagle when he got to the meeting spot at America's Best Value Inn on Museum Road.
According to a probable cause affidavit, the undercover posing as an underage girl told Beagle he was at the Starbucks by the hotel and asked Beagle to meet him there. Beagle was arrested and serached as he left the hotel room to pick up the 15-year-old girl.
Bledsoe said Beagle had a cell phone, two tablets, suspected marijuana, condoms and alcohol with him when he was arrested.
Online records show Beagle was booked in the county jail at 4:44 p.m. Thursday and is being held without bond.
He was charged with internet stalking of a minor, a Class B felony, and possession of a controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor.
Bledsoe told the Log Cabin Democrat that Sheriff Tim Ryals is passionate about keeping Faulkner County families safe.
“Active child predators are not welcome in Faulkner County, and FCSO will continue to seek these predators to arrest and prosecute,” he said.
