Greenbrier woman dies in 3-vehicle accident

A Greenbrier woman was killed Tuesday morning in a three-vehicle accident along Highway 65, just north of Skyline Drive.

The accident occurred shortly after 6 a.m. Tuesday when a 2013 Dodge Dart veered into the southbound lane and struck the 2000 Toyota Echo that 50-year-old Carolyn Finley of Greenbrier was driving, according to an Arkansas State Police report.

Finley’s car spun approximately 180 degrees before being hit head-on by a 2012 Ford Explorer.

Lewis Barker, 26, of Greenbrier, who was driving the Dodge Dart, veered back into the northbound lane just before Finley “veered backwards off the west side of the roadway where [she] was ejected,” according to the report.

Finley was pronounced dead on scene and Barker was taken to Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock to undergo surgery for injuries sustained in the crash.

Weather conditions were cloudy and dry at the time off the accident, according to the report.

Finley’s death was the 511th fatality on Arkansas roads this year, according to preliminary reports.
