Pool Scouts, a pool cleaning service based out of Virginia Beach, Virginia, is looking to bring a franchise to Conway.
The company is part of the Buzz franchise, which started on Jan. 4. Buzz also owns Mosquito Joe, a pest control company with locations in Texas, Florida, New Jersey and New York.
Pool Scouts President Michael Wagner said the pool service industry in 56,000 homes in America and mom and pop pool service businesses serve those homes more.
“We are targeting areas that we can be successful, which is the southern areas of the United States, where pools stay open longer throughout the year,” he said. “You don’t want to put a location in a northern area where pools are only open for a few months of the year.”
Wagner said his team is looking at Conway because it encompasses a large area of what the company is looking at in terms of homes with pools.
“The territory of this size, which includes several cities in Central Arkansas, has about 6,000 families that have pools,” he said. “Conway is a good market for the territory there.”
Wagner said the goal is to open Pool Scouts in the area soon.
“One of the nice things about us, is we can be ran through a home instead of real estate,” he said.
Because of the ease of operating in a home, the company has vehicles that hold all the equipment someone will need, like chemicals to clean their pool.
“People will just need to call, and we will have our person there to clean or sell supplies,” he said.
Wagner said Dallas is another area the company is looking to open a franchise.
