Dames Hold First Fall Meeting Sept. 8

Mary Place Chapter, Colonial Dames XVCII Century will be holding it’s first meeting on Monday, Sept. 8, at 11 a.m. at the home of Jo Kilduff, 822 Donaghey Ave.

We are pleased to announce that our program will be on the different flags that have flown over the United States of America. This program will be presented by Octavia Taylor and Kathy Boyette from Camden, Ark. They will be in period costume and will share this history with us.

Octavia Donald Taylor is a member of the Tate’s Bluff Chapter, DAR, and instrumental in establishing the annual Cemetery Walk in Camden. She is a retired teacher and currently teaches a Water Aerobics class at the public pool. She is active in St. John’s Episcopal Church and the Camden Garden Club.

Kathy Boyette is also a member of the DAR and president of the Quachita County Historical Society. Both ladies are Preservationist at heart and are very diligent workers in many organizations in Camden.
