Sermon Series and Guy Community Cook-out planned by Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church
The Rev. Donna Alberts will be presenting a sermon series on “Back to School/Back to Church,” beginning on Sunday, Sept. 7, at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church.
This series will address the following questions: Will Our Children Have Joy? Will our Children have Power? Will Our Children Have Freedom? Will Our Children Have Faith? All of these questions are on the minds of children’s parents and grandparents, and Pastor Donna will attempt to answer their concerns. Worship begins at 11 a.m., with Sunday school for all ages at 10 a.m. The church is located between Guy and Quitman on Mount Pleasant Road, just off Highway 25.
The church will be hosting a cook-out at the Guy City Park on Sept. 13. All residents in and around Guy are invited to attend. There will be food, fun, and fellowship offered at no charge. The event will be held from noon to 2 p.m.
Special guest Marcia Kendall at House of Prayer
House of Prayer is hosting special guest Marcia Kendall from Arlington, Texas, at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7. Come for this special time of ministry. An old fashioned picnic potluck will be held after the service.

Church Anniversary and Note Burning
The Conway Pentecostal Church of God will hold its 20th year anniversary and note burning Saturday, Sept. 13, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Special guests will be the Rev. E.L. Redding, former superintendent, and the Rev. James Baker, the current church bishop, Heaven’s Highway Band will be singing and performing, along with the church choir, and other guests.
A memorial service will be held for those who have passed away, and a potluck will be held at noon. The public is invited.

Joy of Living Ladies Community Bible Study
Fall/Winter Study on the Book of Daniel begins Thursday morning Sept. 18 with a welcome coffee from 9:15-10 and class study from 10-11. Coffee and study will be held at Cornerstone Bible Church located at 1905 Dave Ward Drive.
Attending the coffee does not commit you to the study so come check it out if you are interested in beginning a Bible study with a group of women.

Catholics Returning Home
St. Joseph Church is offering a six-week series designed to help non-practicing Catholics return to the Church. Entitled Catholics Returning Home, this series takes place every Thursday evening from Sept. 18 through Oct. 23. Sessions begin at 7 p.m. and conclude at 8:30 p.m. They will be held in the Parish Administration Office Conference Room.
The six week series includes such topics as: The Church Today, Explanation of the Mass, Explanation of the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and Explanation of the Nicene Creed. The sessions are free and childcare will be provided.
