H.P. Barham Jr., 19-year-old Conway High School student and son of Mr. and Mrs. H.P. Barham of Conway, today received notice he had been accepted for enlistment in the United States Army air Corps and was directed to report at Little Rock Tuesday for assignment to service in the Philippine Islands.

Mr. and Mrs. E.V. Branson and children of Sacramento, Calif., were guests of her mother, Mrs. Jennie Titus, last week.

Bill and Polly Louder of Santa Barbara, Calif., were recent guests of Betty Pratt of Conway. Mr. Louder and J.D. Pratt, Mrs. Pratt’s late husband, were stationed together in Germany during World War II.

Jerry Hiegel and his son Daniel caught 11 frogs recently when they went gigging. It was Daniel’s first time to go gigging.

State Police kick off Drive Sober campaign
