George Jones of Conway, 180-pound quarterback of last fall’s Conway High School football team, said today he would enter Hendrix College next month and become a candidate for the football team. He was considered one of the outstanding prep backs in Central Arkansas last season and was honored at the close of the year by being selected for the third all-state team.

Jones is a brother of Frank Jones, center of last year’s Hendrix team, and of Charles Jones, former Hendrix quarterback.

Jim Moffet, associate county agent for Faulkner County, has completed requirements for a master’s degree in general agriculture at the University of Arkansas.

He will receive his diploma in exercises next January. He also holds a bachelor’s degree from the U of A.

Anita Murdock of Conway is attending Ouachita Baptist University’s annual leadership training workshop this week at Arkadelphia.

She is a senior political science major.

University of Central Arkansas football coach Clint Conque expressed a common thought Monday, five days before opening night.

Apparently, eagerness is a common feeling among UCA fans.

Monday’s luncheon at the Hall of Fame Room at Estes Stadium attracted a crowd of 101, thought by observers to be the largest in the history of the weekly luncheon, which has been held regularly for more than two decades.
