UCA to scrimmage for 2nd time Saturday

The University of Central Arkansas Bears will complete their first full week in pads with their second scrimmage of the preseason at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at First Security Field at Estes Stadium.

“We have competition for several spots on the depth chart,” said UCA coach Steve Campbell after the first scrimmage last week. “This is a big week for us and a big scrimmage for us.”

The competition is for spots on the two-deep and traveling squad and determining which younger players will be put on the fast track to play this season.

The Bears open against Texas Tech at Lubbock on Aug. 30.
