Barry Raleigh celebrated his fifth birthday anniversary Friday at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil B. Raleigh, on Donaghey Avenue with a party for a group of his little friends. Games were played, balloons and rubber balls were given as favors and ice cream and cake were served.

Richard Parker, 30-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Kelsey W. Parker of Conway, has accepted a position as producer-director for the Educational Television Service of the Davidson County and Nashville Public School System, Nashville, Tenn.

Parker attended Hendrix College and graduated from Arkansas State Teachers College. He is married and has one son.

Four Conway residents recently passed the Uniform Certified Public Accountants Examination, administered in May by the Arkansas State Board of Public Accountancy.

Conway residents who passed the exam are Terry Lynn Fatherly, Gregory D. Allen, Jeffrey John Biter and Dolores Jean Murphy.

Catherine Fowler, a 6-fot-1 middle blocker of Conway, has orally committed to play volleyball for the University of Arkansas.

Fowler, who is beginning her junior season, led the Wampus Cats in kills and blocks her sophomore season. She earned honorable mention citations in both AAAAA-Central and the Log Cabin Democrat’s All-Faulkner County team. She played for the Ozark 17-year-old Junior Olympic team, which went to nationals in Houston this summer.

She was selected as an alternate to the USA Junior Women National A-2 team in 2004. She was on the AOA Top 25 Sophomore and Junior Team.

Sports roundup: UCA baseball, tennis, Hendrix baseball

Mark Moyer, a redshirt freshman from Russellville who missed the 2016 season with an arm injury, went the distance, allowing just five hits and striking out four to record UCA’s first complete game of the season to lead the University of Central Arkansas to a run-rule, 10-0 victory New Orleans University in the runner game of the three-game series Sunday at Bear Stadium.
