Gene Williams of Greenbrier has joined the Caruthersville, Mo., baseball club of the Northeast Arkansas league for the remainder of the season. Young Williams has been shortstopping for Greenbrier most of this year. He is playing the outfield for Caruthersville.

Earl Goggans of Vilonia won the 1964 Dodge Dart given away Saturday night in a drawing at the St. Joseph Bazaar. He lives in the Holland community.

Conway High School head football coach Buzz Bolding has been named to the executive committee of the Arkansas High School Coaches Association, placing him in the line to be president of the organization in five years.

Bolding will be the Class AAAA representative on the five-man committee, replacing outgoing president Joe Fred Young of Fort Smith Northside.

The University of Central Arkansas Sugar Bears were picked third in the Gulf South Conference West Division preseason volleyball poll released Monday.

UCA outside hitter Pearline Gill was named to the preseason All-GSC West team by the league’s coaches. Gill is a 5-foot-11 senior from Bernie, Mo.
