Little Rock’s newest live performance venue, The, will celebrate its grand opening Thursday, July 31. The celebration begins at 2pm with a ribbon cutting hosted by the Little Rock Chamber of Commerce. A reception follows along with theatre tours and live musical performances in The Lobby Bar until 1am.
Located in a burgeoning area of downtown Little Rock, the 99 seat venue is ideally located for supporters of local theatre. “There are other live performance spaces within walking distance of The Studio Theatre,” says President of the Board and Musical Director, Bob Bidewell. “Lovers of the performing arts now have another first class performance space to consider when making their plans.”
Artistic Director, Michael Henderson adds, “Along with a full roster of plays and musicals, the space will host musicians, magicians, dance and touring companies. Consider this an open call to performing artists of all shapes and sizes, we want to talk to you about making The Studio Theatre your new home. Professional and amateurs alike should give us a call.”
In August, The Studio Theatre and Lobby Bar have a schedule of productions sure to please central Arkansas supporters of live performance:

Additionally, Community Theatre of Little Rock recently moved to The Studio Theatre and just wrapped up sold out performances of Rent. CTLR’s next performance is a series of One Acts and runs August 22-24. Visit www.ctlr-act.org for details.
In September, Little Shop of Horrors takes the stage with 10 performances beginning September 11.
“The support of the theatre community and the retail community around us is fantastic,” says Board Vice President, Jeremy Hall. “Everyone loves the theatre space and The Lobby Bar, which adjoins The Studio Theatre, features live performances several nights a week, giving folks one more reason to get out and support local and regional talent.”
The Lobby Bar is open Monday through Friday, 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. and Saturday from 5 p.m. to midnight, offering an assortment of domestic and imported wine and beer.
