Alzheimer's Arkansas Programs and Services annual fundraiser

The Conway committee of the Ninth annual Alzheimer’s Walk benefitting Alzheimer’s Arkansas Programs and Services is having its annual Pizza Inn Fundraiser from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday, July 29. Members of the committee will be waiting tables for tips and the restaurant management will be donating a percentage of the sales that evening to the Walk. There also will be a table set up for selling raffle tickets for an upcoming Carnival Cruise, as well as the annual pancake breakfast at Stoby’s on Aug. 24. “This is a fun night, and it gives mom an excuse not to cook,” said Walk chairman Melissa Longing.

The Walk will be Saturday, Sept. 13, beginning at 8 a.m. at The Buzz Bolding arena on the Conway High School campus. Over 700 people gathered last year to raise funds and awareness for caregivers and patients with Dementia or Alzheimer’s. This year’s theme is “Caregiver’s Count.” The caregivers of Alzheimer’s patients are often times the forgotten victims of this disease. Alzheimer’s Arkansas Programs and Services is a huge benefit for caregivers, amateurs and professionals.
