Dean A.J. Meadors of the Arkansas State Teachers College announced today the enrollment for the second summer session had passed the 300-mark, but that the total registration probably would be slightly under that for the second term last year. The second term opened last Thursday and runs five weeks.

50 years ago

(1964)

Four girls will represent Faulkner County next week at the annual National Convention of Future Homemakers of America at Chicago, Ill. They are Leeann Morse, Joyce Henry (she attends school at Guy), both of Conway, Glenda Deare and Mary Jo Butler, both of Greenbrier. The girls left today.

Two basketball officials from Conway, Mike Rottinghaus and Alton Freyburger, have been selected to work the AAU 15-and-under national tournament this week at Kingsport, Tenn.

(2004)

Jonathan Partney, 18-year-old son of Marlin and Gail Partney, recently achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Partney is a member of Boy Scout Troop 71.
