Roy C. Neal last night was elected member of the board of trustees, treasurer and member of the board’s operating committee for the Conway Memorial Hospital, succeeding E. Wainwright Martin, resigned.

Conway had the dubious honor of being the hottest spot in Arkansas Tuesday.

Actually Conway had to share it with Morrilton and Calico Rock. It was 106 degrees in all three places. This is the hottest weather in Conway in about 10 years. Some relief is predicted in the latest weather forecast.

Brandi Reynolds, 5, daughter of Vickie Reynolds of Conway and Craig Reynolds of El Dorado, won top honors in the Arkansas Most Beautiful Miss Pageant held recently in Jacksonville.

She was awarded first place in best model and best patriotic sportswear divisions. She was selected second alternate in the beauty category.

Miss Reynolds is a granddaughter of Wendell White of Conway.

Matthew S. Rice, Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office investigator, became certified recently as a crime scene technician.

Rice was among 22 law enforcement officers in the state chosen for the program designed to provide a solid foundation in processing crime scenes for physical evidence. The officers were required to pass a written and practical exam at the end of the course.
