Edward Mitchell, assistant scoutmaster of Troop No. 71, Conway Boy Scouts, received Eagle Scout recognition, was inducted into the order of the arrow for being an honor camper during the period he spent at Camp Quapaw, and received merit badges for camping and bird study activities at a court of awards Saturday, near Benton. Nearly 100 scouts were presented certificates and insignia for rank, service and merit. The Conway scouts who attended the camp returned home yesterday.

Lt. Col. Charles B. Greene of Conway was graduated last Saturday from the U.S. Army Reserve Schools associate command and general staff course at Ft. Leavenworth, Kan.

Renee Field, 14, formerly of Conway, was the regional winner in the “Look of the Year” contest held recently at Hickory Ridge Mall in Memphis, Tenn.

Miss Field is the daughter of Rick and Danielle Field of Little Rock. Her pictures will be sent to New York with approximately 30 other regional winners. Five girls will be selected from this group to represent the United States in the Paris Grand Finale in September. Miss Field’s father is a vice president at Acxiom Corp.

The Conway Wizards eighth-grade basketball team recently won its division in the MAYBAR Summer Jam tournament in Little Rock. Team members are Nick Lankford, Yancy Thomas, Troy Sandidge, Anthony Maltbia, Kyle Kennedy, Demarcus Hill, Alex McKnight, Ryan Wooten, Sean Smith, Corey Morrow, and coach Floyd Morrow.
