Complimenting Miss Eula Gordy, bride-elect, Mrs. A.E. Burcick and Mrs. Joe B. McGee entertained at the home of Mrs. Burdick on Caldwell Street last night with Tripoli party in her honor. Games of Tripoli were played during the evening and each hostess presented the honoree with a gift. Mrs. Kenneth Spatz of Tyler, Texas, Mrs. Sam O’Baugh of McGehee and Mrs. Kirk Couch of Shreveport were special guests.

The Conway High School Wampus Cats will be the No. 1 Class AA football team in Arkansas this fall, predicts Arkansas Football Magazine, which goes on sale at local newsstands Tuesday.

The magazine covers Conway’s prospects and gives a detailed rundown of the teams in the large league race.

Greenbrier Blue recently won the Mark Mendenhall Midseason Baseball Tournament for youth at Quitman.

Members of the team are Jacob Reynolds, Adam Wallace, Jeremy Davis, Billy Masters, Sam Hall, Clint Jones, Brandon Moore, Brandon Fureigh, Scott Johnson, Danny Naff, Clay Blake, Clint Chapman, Jeremy Baker, Robbie Naff, B.J. Snowden and Brent Nickles, and coaches are Joey Wallace and Rick Reynolds.
