President John H. Reynolds of Hendrix College has received a letter from Dr. John H. Finley, former editor of the New York Times and director of the hall of fame of NYU, stating that he had been elected by the senate of New York University to membership in the college of electors of the hall of fame of the university.

Members in this college are from every state in the union, and their principal service is the consideration of names to be added to the hall of fame.

(1964)

Danny Wedding of the Vilonia Future Farmers of America Chapter this week is attending forestry camp at FFA Camp Couchdale. The camp is located between Malvern and Hot Springs on Lake Catherine. It is owned and operated by the Arkansas Association of FFA.

Wedding is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Wedding.

Thomas Jerry Hicks, a driver for Lasley Trucking Co., was awarded the second-place trophy in the five-axle flatbed division of the Arkansas Truck Driving Championships held recently in Little Rock

Hicks has been a driver for 23 years, the last four with Lasley, and has 3 million miles of accident-free driving to his credit.

Hicks and his wife, Brenda, reside in Conway.

Several Faulkner County students have received scholarships for the 2004-05 school year from the Conway Morning Optimist Club. The students are Sam Moix, Kevin White, Ruth Burks, Jessica Greenhaw, Neelie Tanner, Joel Scott, Darley Kirkpatrick and Laurie Ann Perrigo.
