Jane Mobley, a junior at Conway High School, today was nominated for governor of Arkansas Girls State on the Nationalist Party ticket.

Her Federalist foe is Mary Katherine Priddy of Dumas. Miss Priddy is a niece of Mrs. William O. Dunaway of Conway and Miss Mobley is a daughter of Col. and Mrs. E.A. Mobley. The election will be held Thursday. The two girls will campaign today and a rally will be held tonight at Camp Robinson, where Girls State is in session.

Leta Garrett shot a 45 to win low-gross honors and Virginia Brown had a 39 to place first in low-net competition Tuesday in Women’s Golf Association play at Conway Country Club. Julie Jiskra was second in low-gross with a 48. Janet Kordsmeier, Patsy Manion and Cordia Mote all tied for second in low-net with 40s.

Aaron and Dana Crowson of Conway announce the birth of a daughter, Meleah Anne Crowson, on Friday (May 28, 2004), at UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock. The baby weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces and was 20 inches long. Grandparents are John and Debra Crowson of Rogers and Bob and Judy Hambuchen of Little Rock.
