Rotary Honors Two

Colton Ray and Rachel Dixon were honored as Greenbrier Junior High School’s Noon Rotary Club Outstanding 8 th Graders.   Colton is the son of Doug and Michele Ray and Rachel is the daughter of Tim and Dona Dixon.   Each year, the Noon Rotary Club of Faulkner County honors two outstanding 8 th grade students from each school in the county.

These students are nominated by their teachers and peers as those who have been leaders in their school and community.   They display leadership and service characteristics and apply the motto of “Service Above Self” to their everyday lives.   Colton is involved in many school, church, and community activities including paging for Rep. Steven Meeks, athletics, Agriculture classes, ACS, and the Ozark Mission Project.   He hopes to join the Air Force Academy and become a high-ranking law enforcement official.

Rachel is very active in her youth group at Greenbrier Church of Christ, a member of FBLA, GJHS Color Guard, the EAST program and ACS.   Her future goals include attending Harding University where she would like to play in the Bison Marching Band and Wind Symphony and then follow with possibly medical school.
