Lindsay Griffin was presented with the title of Greenbrier School District Teacher of the Year in a surprise ceremony by Superintendent Scott Spainhour and Deputy Superintendent Dr. Lisa Todd.
She is a 6th-grade literacy teacher in Greenbrier’s Middle School.
“A leader in the school, always willing to help with great ideas, a techie guru and born to teach” are just a few of the comments from her peers.
She has taught for 13 years in Greenbrier and comes from a family of teachers.
Her mother is a teacher and her brother is a tech coordinator in the Greenbrier district.
Another teacher commented, “She makes teaching look easy and her class is fun.”
Griffin said, “This is where I grew up and now where my kids are growing up, and I love being a teacher here.”
Griffin was chosen out of a field of extraordinary Teachers of the Year from each school in the district. They are Myrna Sherwood of Eastside Elementary, Melinda Hollenbaugh of Westside Elementary, Teresa Jackson of Wooster Elementary, Dona Dixon at the Junior High School and Amber Vint of Greenbrier High School.
