Scott Montgomery and Leon Ryan, members of the Future Farmers of America chapter at Conway High School, will receive the state FFA degree at the state convention June 3-5 at Magnolia.

Montgomery’s program consisted mainly of beef production. A son of Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Montgomery of Conway, he holds the office of student advisor in the Conway chapter.

Ryan’s program is beef production and pasture. He is the reporter in the chapter and a son of Mr. and Mrs. E.O. Ryan of Conway.

Steven L. Mobbs, 22, of Conway graduated May 13 from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a bachelor’s degree in both English and biology. He is a son of Margaret Bradford of Conway and Jim Mobbs of Lincoln, Neb., and the grandson of Juanita Mobbs Vogan and the late J.B. Mobbs of Greenbrier and Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Ussery of Guy.

Mobbs is a member of Delta Tau Delta and plans to attend the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock.

Conway Christian’s sixth-grade girls team recently won the state private school tournament and also placed second in its conference tournament and the West Pulaski Conference tournament. Team members are Moani Iwamura, Christina Clark, Molly Bowman, Mallory Clutts, Pilahi Iwamura, Casey Gibbs, Mary Nabholz, Kelsey Lea and Taylor Guinn, and coaches Anita Price and Rhonda Pinkett.
