Mrs. G.D. Huddleston and Miss Evie Shaw were hostesses to Chapter E, Conway P.E.O., for its regular meeting Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Homer F. Hess. At a business session two new members, Miss Ruth Adkisson and Mrs. John P. Anderon, were initiated. The hostesses served ice cream with strawberries and cake.

The Rev. William Mishier, pastor of First Free Will Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, is the evangelist foe a revival that opens Monday at the First Free Will Baptist Church at 1711 Washington Ave. Services are at 7:30 nightly with prayer groups meeting at 7:15. The revival ends May 3.

(1989)

Warren Readnour of Conway has been named the top junior at the University of Central Arkansas. The award is presented annually to the student with the highest grade point average who has between 60 and 89 hours of credit.

Readnour is a son of Dr. Harry Readnour and Vada Readnour of Conway.

He was recognized April 23 at the annual Honors Convocation and presented cash prizes from the university and the UCA Alumni Association.

Faulkner County Day School teacher Angela Ladd received a tiara from fellow teacher Kathy Taylor after Ladd was named the school’s Teacher of the Year on Thursday. She was chosen from parent nominations and received a certificate and several gift items in addition to the crown. She teaches three- and four-year-olds at the school.
