E.V. Barton, superintendent of schools, announced today commencement exercises will be held Thursday, April 27. Dr. Fred Keller of Conway, state administrator of CCC camps, will give the address to a group of 38 boys and girls.

50 years ago

(1964)

The Rev. Clyde W. Coleman has accepted the pastorate of Antioch Baptist Church here effective Sunday.

The Rev. Mr. Coleman, chairman of the Department of Bible at Central Baptist College, resigned as pastor of Garner Baptist Church at Garner (White County).

The Rev. Mr. Coleman and his wife, Veda, have two children, Curtis, 16, and Janice, 12.

(1989)

Pamela Osment of Conway was recently named Young Career Woman of the Year for the Conway chapter of Business and Professional Women and represented the club at district-level competitions in March at Searcy.

Ms. Osment, 33, has practiced law at the Osment Law Office in Conway since 1987.

(2004)

Jan Clark, sales associate and owner of Crutchfield, Clark and Co., was honored at the Faulkner County Board of Realtors Awards with the Congeniality Award. She also received the Gold Award for closing a volume of $4 million in 2003.
