Vilonia won first place in the annual county track meet conducted Saturday at the Young Memorial Stadium. Hendrix College athletes were in charge of the meet. The Vilonia teams, including senior girls and boys and junior girls and boys, scored a total of 84 1-2 points. Greenbrier finished second with 64 points.

Walter Henze was named secretary of the Arkansas-Missouri District of Key Clubs and Bobby Rawn was named lieutenant-governor of division 15 recently at last week’s meeting in St. Louis. Henze is a son of Dr. and Mrs. Arthur Henze and Rawn’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Russell D. Rawn. Young Henze is also treasurer of the local club. Both are students at Conway High School.

Nancy Spatz, 21, of Conway signed autographs shortly after being crowned Miss Conway while her mother, Nana Jo, sneaked around a crowd of well-wishers Saturday night to hug her daughter. Miss Spatz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harton Spatz of Conway and a student at Hendrix College, performed a piano medley.

Conway JO’s 13-year-old team, coached by Heather Law, wrapped up their season recently by taking first in the Collierville, Tenn., Suburban Saddle Classic. Team members are Danielle Young, Rosalie Meriwether, Whitney West, Ashley Cyr, Jenny Beth Davis, Joleigh McManis, Lindsey Boone, Kayleigh Ratliff, assistant coach Hilary Watts and Jordan Berry.

The Conway City Council will consider rezoning properties, reclassifying a city position and rebidding a project during its regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Russell L. “Jack” Roberts District Court Building.
