St. Joseph's Nichols fires no-hitter against Conway Christian

Nash Nichols tossed the first no-hitter in recent St. Joseph history Monday as the Bulldogs romped past Conway Christian in a baseball game at Curtis Walker Park.

Nichols (3-1) struck out six and walked three in the six-inning game, shortened by the mercy rule.

“Nash had a little bump in the third inning, but got stronger as the game went on,” said coach Luke Davis. “I’m proud of him. No-hitters at any level are big accomplishments. The defense did a good job behind him.”

Dylan Schrekenhofer was 4-for-4 with four RBI, a double and three runs scored for the Bulldogs (5-4, 4-0). Nichols went 2-for-2 with a double. Britt Stroth was 2-for-3. Jacob Lampe was 1 for 3 with three runs scored.
