In an advertisement in today’s Log Cabin Democrat Swift & Company announce the formal opening Saturday, April 8, of their new “one-top” cash buying station in the building formerly occupied by the Conway Produce Company, next door to the Swift pant on Court Street.

Lodie V. Biggs of Biggs Tire Store today announced winners in a contest staged last week by the Biggs Tire Store. They were C.L. Junyor of Conway, awarded two long miler tires; Mrs. J.W. Conner of Conway, who was given a Delco battery; and Don E. Burnette of Conway, who won an electric can opener.

Marine Lance Cpl. Robert W. Cates, a son of Jim C. and Linda K. Cates of Conway, recently completed the basic electronic course in Twentynine Palms, Calif.

Cates is a 1986 graduate of Conway High School.

The Conway Dairy Queen Busters, a USSSA 7-year-old baseball team, recently won the championship of the Morrilton Youth Association Preseason Invitational tournament by going undefeated. Team members are Jacob Adams, Luke Beckman, Bubba Carter, Chandler Ferrin, Jace Hill, Max Porter, Jacob Lampe, Adrian Moore, Dylan Schrekenhofer, Matthew Shiew, Nick Starr and Britt Stroth. Coaches are Scott Stroth, Bill Lampe, Bobby Starr, Jamie Hill and Steve Shiew.

US acknowledges its forces were behind airstrike on Mosul
