Benjamin Owen, instructor in piano and theory at Hendrix College, presented another in the series of faculty recitals in the Hendrix chapel last night.

A large audience, including several out-of-town guests, gave Mr. Owen two encores. Particularly well received on his program were Characteristic Piece by Mendelssohn, Sonata in B minor by Chopin, Fairy Tale in E-flat major by Medtner and Etude by Scriabine.

Easter, along with its religious aspect, is a time for most little girls to wear their first spring outfit of the season. Jeana Kay Karber, 3-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.G. Karber, was all set for Sunday’s services at Antioch Baptist Church. The pink dacron and cotton dress was tailored by her mother and her accessories included black patent shoes, matching purse and knit gloves. The traditional bonnet was white with pink trim.

Jan Sanders of Conway, an environmental graphic design consultant and construction administrator at Sanders-2000 Inc., will become a fellow of the Construction Specifications Institute at the 48th Annual CSI Show and Convention in Chicago in April.
