Mrs. Opie Hartje entertained a group of little folks Thursday afternoon at her home on Ash Street with a party in honor of her grandson, Mike Hartje, son of Mr. and Mrs. Opie Hartje Jr. of Searcy, who celebrated his fifth birthday anniversary on that day. The guest list included Allen Markham, Eddie Camp, Teddie Ashcraft, Jim Gooden, Jimmie Fulmer, Ann Robbins, Judy Rowlett, Martha Florence Richardson, Harley O. Weatherly Jr., Lyle Hassell, A.E. Treadway, Chris Heizman, Katie Jo Bachelor and Richard Parker.

Travis Edward Atterberry, 17, son of Mr. and Mrs. D.E. Atterberry, was named winner last week in the Young Columbus VIII “Easter in Italy” trip sponsored by Parade Magazine and the Little Rock paper.

The youth will leave Little Rock March 27 for New York and from New York on March 28 for Italy by Trans-World TWA SuperJet for a 14-day visit in Italy.

Young Atterberry is a senior at Conway High School.

Stephanie A. Morgans, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Morgans of Conway, has been accepted for admission to Luther College in Iowa.

Beth Fenske’s 14s recently won a silver medal at the Conway Volleyball Club’s SlamFest. Team members are Natalie Lankford, Katie MacLellan, Shannon Kennedy, Ashli Brown, Amber Lilley, Abby Sinclair, Amie Smith, Bridget Thomas, coach Beth Frenske and honorary member Catherine Brown.
