Johnny Bulice, 9, of Conway, attempted to start a fire without matches yesterday at the Scout Expo at Conway Towne Center. Johnny, a member of Pack 434, is a son of Clayton and Laurie Bulice. The fire-starting demonstration booth was sponsored by Troop 200 of Heber Springs.

Mark Lashley is the new pastor at Pickles Gap Baptist Church. Lashley and his wife, Patty, moved to Conway in January with their son, Chase, 9. Prior to accepting the pastorate at Pickles Gap, Lashley was pastor at First Baptist Church in Mount Ida (Montgomery County).
