Greenbrier Chamber to hold banquet April 4

The Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce has set Friday, April 4 for their Community Awards Banquet.

Guest speaker will be Andy Miller of Southwestern Energy, and recognition awards will be given for the following categories:  “Citizen of the Year,” “Volunteer of the Year,” “Student of the Year,” “New Business in Town,” “Non-Profit Business in Town,” “Small Business in Town” and “Business of the Year.” Members are asked to vote online at their web-site.

As usual, one of the highlights of the evening is their silent auction.

Each year more than 250 attendees browse and bid on company items ranging from jewelry to gift certificates to trips.

If you would like to donate an item for the auction, contact chairperson Paula Winn at 679-1295.

Reservations are now being taken for tables of eight by contacting the Chamber.

Marketplace Grill will cater this affair this year.

The Greenbrier Chamber gives scholarships to two deserving Greenbrier seniors each year, funded by their annual golf tournament.

The sales of advertising signs for the tournament fund these scholarships and are now on sale.

Persimmon Ridge Golf Club will host the 2014 Scramble for Scholarship Golf Tournament on Saturday, April 26.

A two-man scramble with prizes is always popular.

Lunch is provided.
