C.C. Martin and O.D. Nation of Conway have secured positions at the Oaklawn track in Hot Springs for the 30-day racing season opening Feb. 27. Mr. Martin was employed at the track last year.

Forrest Kessinger of Conway, recently transferred to Heber Springs as count revenue inspector, expects to be assigned to Hot Springs for the racing season.

Sixteen members of the Vilonia Beta Club attended the Beta Club convention in Little Rock last Friday and Saturday. They were accompanied by their sponsor, Monty McMahan, and Mrs. McMahan. They returned to their homes after attending church services in Little Rock.

Nancy Adeline and Linda Marie Sponer, the daughter of Mathilda Clary of Conway, were named to the Dean’s List for the fall 1988 semester at the Arkansas College of Technology at Little Rock.

(2004)

Conway Christian School defeated Word of Outreach Christian Academy 68-61 in overtime Saturday to win the senior boys division of its conference tournament.

Jonathan Jacobs, coming back from an injury, scored seven of his 10 points in overtime. Grant Nabholz scored 18 points, 10 of which came in the fourth quarter or overtime. Nicholas Cox opened the game with three 3-pointers on the way to nine points.
