“Father’s day” will be celebrated at the junior high school auditorium tonight at 7:30, in connection with founders’ day. Mrs. V.D. Hill will be program leader and F.H. Harrin guest speaker. A prize will be given to the room having the greatest number of fathers present.

50 years ago

(1964)

The Baker Drug Store will be expanded within the next few weeks, David Baker, owner, said today.

The firm plans an addition to the east end of its store and will take in office space now occupied by Robert Rabb, a certified public accountant.

The drug store project will cost approximately $20,000.

Members of the newly formed Conway Christian Academy Warriors cheerleading squad practiced recently at the school. Practicing were Kelli Cast, Rusti York, Jennifer Jorgensen, Gwen Elliott, Mitzi Millsap, Amanda Sutterfield and Becky Jorgensen, cheerleading coach. The girls, all eighth-graders, will cheer during boys and girls basketball games.

Dan Nabholz of Conway has been reappointed to the Transitional Employment Board by Gov. Mike Huckabee.

Nabholz, an executive with Nabholz Inc., will serve until Oct. 5, 2007.

US acknowledges its forces were behind airstrike on Mosul
