BJ Fox: The Fox's Den, Jan. 21

Step into my den, pull up a comfy chair and a cup of tea and let’s chat.

The Greenbrier Planning Commission met Monday, Jan. 20 in the Municipal Building. The agenda consisted of reviewing the site plan for the Greenvalley Addition, a special use permit request for outside sales from Boss Hog BBQ and a special use permit for 9 Dickens St. by Tim Bass.

The School Board meeting recognized Rebekah Bilderback for participating in the Capital Hill Challenge Stock Market Game on a team with Tim Griffin and Jennifer Richardson, who was selected as President Obama’s Outstanding K-6 Science Teacher for Arkansas.  Hats off to these two talented teachers.

My design background gave me great enthusiasm for color projections, and I always find it interesting to watch color trends. Orchid has been dubbed the top color for 2014, along with its opposite on the color wheel: emerald green. We’ve seen that limey green for a few years now; but it has been classied up to emerald. The new shade of purple they call Radiant Orchid in Pantone Inc’s color of the 2014 year will show up in clothing, furnishings, linens and paints. Just like fashion in hair and clothing, fashionable colors change every year too.

And lastly — today is National Hugging Day, so go hug someone. It is a scientific fact that you may instantly defuse tension by hugging a significant other.
