2014 The Year of Wise Management

Posted: January 16, 2014 - 3:25pm

If you are like me, in 2014 you may have decided that you are going to become a better manager of your life in every aspect. I even thought about taking classes to obtain management skills, but then I thought, what have you done with what you already know, have you used wisdom with the skills and information that you already have? Sometimes it’s not a matter of obtaining more; it’s using what you’ve already received from God. God waits on us to become wise stewards (managers) over what we already have before he gives us more to manage, because he knows he has to hold us accountable for what he has given us. Realizing that everything and everyone — yes even time and money — belongs to God, can he trust us to manage his things wisely? Let’s look into the word of God as a ruler for where we will be headed if we will be wise managers of God’s things.

Genesis 41:39 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art: 40 Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou. 41 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt. 42 And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph’s hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck; 43 And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt. (KJV)

Daniel 1:17 As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams. 18 Now at the end of the days that the king had said he should bring them in, then the prince of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar. 19 And the king communed with them; and among them all was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: therefore stood they before the king. 20 And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king enquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm. (KJV)

So we see that God will position us where he can use us to impact nations and people from every walk of life, from the servant to the king. The world desperately needs wise counselors and managers, they will see the skill and wisdom that Jesus has given you, ask you questions, and desire to serve him also.

Proverbs 18:16 A man’s gift makes room, or opens doors for him, and brings him before great men. (KJV, CEB)
