Ruskin Teeter, 28-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. Teeter of Conway, is teaching business education and social studies in Balboa High School in the Canal Zone, where the current Panamanian squabble with the United States arose.

Young Teeter has been in Panama three years. He holds bachelor and master degrees from the University of Arkansas and is working toward a doctorate at the university.

The Guy-Perkins School District’s Board of Education hired Sylvia Heath as an additional kindergarten teacher last night.

Conway Downtown Partnership director Jamie Gates was chosen from among 29 applicants to become the assistant to Mayor Tab Townsell.

The new job, which begins later this month, will fill the role occupied for two years by Renee Hunter, whose last day was Dec. 16.
