Frank Dunn of Conway, student in Abilene Christian College, Abilene, Texas, is now presenting a weekly broadcast of baritone solos each Wednesday evening at 6:15 over station KRBC at Abilene.

(1964)

John Goodrich hit a jump shot with five seconds left to give the Greenbrier Panthers a 48-47 upset victory over the Mountain Home Bombers in a semifinal game this morning in the State Teachers tournament. Goodrich scored 21 points in all.

(1989)

Students at St. Joseph Elementary School and about 30 other people attended ground-breaking ceremonies yesterday for the construction of a new elementary school building.

(2004)

Conway Police Department K-9 Officer Chad Smith recently received the 2003 Police Officer of the Year award and Conway Fire Department driver Fred Nutt was named 2003 Conway Firefighter of the Year by the Kiwanis Club of Conway at a meeting Wednesday at Ryan’s Steakhouse. Each honoree was presented a $100 cash award.
