Meet and greet for new UCA staff


The public will have a chance to meet the new University of Central Arkansas football coaching staff at 6 p.m. Monday at Centennial Valley Country Club’s special events center.

Head coach Steve Campbell and his coaching staff will be on hand to meet and greet the public for the first time. Campbell is UCA’s first new head football coach since the 2000 season.

Refreshments will be provided at the public reception. For more information, call 450-3150.


UCA’s Duever honored by SLC

For the second straight week, University of Central Arkansas center Courtney Duever has earned Southland Conference women’s basketball Player of the Week honors.

Duever averaged 19.7 points, 10.7 rebounds, 3.3 steals and added 13 blocks in three victories last week, including a 24-point, 15-rebound effort against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.


Hendrix’s Neal receives honors

Hendrix College freshman guard Taylor Neal has been named the Southern Athletic Association Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.

Neal, from Brady, Texas, led the Warriors with 13 points and 2 blocks per game as Hendrix won a pair of games during the week. For the week, Neal shot 52.4 percent overall (11-of-21) and was 3-for-6 from three-point range.


Conway White romps past Bryant

Conway White defeated Bryant, 60-27, Monday night in eighth-grade boys basketball.

Leading scorer was Stuart Lowe with 13, Carson Petruccelli added 10, and Joe Thomas had nine.


Registration opens for clinic

The Ronnie Roach football coaching clinic will be Feb. 7-9 at the Arlington Hotel in Hot Springs.
