Walter E. Browne Jr. entertained a group of friends Friday afternoon at the home of his parents on Faulkner Street with a party celebrating his seventh birthday.

Those present were Mary Moore, Pat Hutson, Juanita Lane, Betty Harton, Bobby Matthews, L.J. Milligan, Pat and Chris Heizman, Stanley Russ and Charles Wright.

(1963)

Miss Betty Jane Leggett became the bride of Thomas Wesley Chick on Monday afternoon at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Little Rock.

Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. James Harry Leggett of Little Rock. The bridegroom is a son of Mrs. Ruby Chick of Conway and the late Opie E. Chick. The bridegroom’s maternal grandmother is Mrs. H.W. Montgomery of Conway.

Three Faulkner County students recently enlisted in the Marines Corps Reserve delayed entry program.

The three are Pvt. Ronald S. Webb and Pvt. Scott M. Ausbrooks, both of Mayflower, and Pvt. Steven P. Fuller of Conway.

There will be an empty seat at University of Central Arkansas athletic events following the recent death of loyal supporter Jim Hoggard of Conway.

However, his memory will live on through a scholarship established by UCA.
